Dr. Geoffrey Sadock teaches English at Bergen Community College.

Dr. Geoffrey Sadock was named the U.S. Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
Sadock, a Dumont resident, teaches English at Bergen Community College. He has been teaching at the college since 1972. He co-founded the college’s honors program in 1975. He has written extensively on religion, literature and the Great Hunger.
“I’m very grateful for this recognition,” Sadock said in a statement. “It confirms me in my vocation and my colleagues who strive to impart humanistic learning. It means somebody is noticing that humanities are still valid in a time when the number of majors has declined.”
