Bergen Man Killed After Falling Under Train
Daniel Stark, 50, was running alongside the train in Westwood when he fell under it and his arm was severed, officials said.

A 50-year-old man died Friday after he fell under a NJ Transit train in Hillsdale and suffered severe injuries, including severing his arm, officials said.
Daniel Stark, of Hillsdale, was running alongside the the 1622 train when he fell under it, said Penelope Bassett, a NJ Transit spokeswoman.
Stark’s arm was severed and his legs were severely hurt, Bassett said. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

The train was traveling on Nj Transit’s Pascack Valley line out of Spring Valley, N.Y. and scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 5:22 p.m. Its crew was unaware of the accident and told to stop the train east of Hillsdale by the Emerson Police Department, Bassett said.
Service was suspended on the Pascack Valley line from 4:20 to 6 p.m.
