Bergen Woman Jumps To Her Death From GWB, Police Say
60-year-old was the 14th person to commit suicide at the bridge this year.

A 60-year-old Closter woman jumped to her death from the George Washington Bridge Friday, authorities said.
The New York Police Department’s Harbor Unit recovered the woman’s body from the Hudson River around 12:30 p.m. Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo said.
The woman, whose name was not released, jumped from the bridge’s south walkway midspan, Pentangelo said; she was pronounced dead at St. Luke’s Hospital in New York city.

The woman is the 14th person to jump to her death from the bridge this year. The Port Authority reports there were 16 suicides in 2013 and 18 in 2014. Records were not kept of the number of suicides before then.
