Foods That Can Help Reduce Cholesterol Levels

Contrary to popular belief, cholesterol containing foods, only cause a minimal increase of blood cholesterol levels.

It is possible to reduce your cholesterol significantly by modifying your diet.

Dr. David Williams recommends:

1.  Eating more alkaline producing foods and less acid producing foods.

2.  Eggs - The lecithin in the yolk can actually reduce blood chholesterol levels!

3.  Onions - Raises the good HDL cholesterol numbers and reduces the
potential for blood clots!

4.  Fiber  including oats, oat bran, legumes, apple pectin, grapefruit pectin, psyllium and guar gum.        

5.  Fish and fish oil, which lowers triglycerides as well as cholesterol levels, lowers the risk of high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, and clogged arteries.

6.  Flaxseed - Flaxseed is rich in alpha linolenic acid, which has a similar effect as fish oil.

You should consult your physician prior to changing your diet or taking supplements since certain foods and/or supplements are contraindicated to take with specific drugs!
