A NJ Transit train heading from Hoboken to Suffern struck the person at about 6:48 a.m., according to NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith.

The Number 1103 train struck the trespasser near the Ramsey station on the Main Line, according to NJ Transit. The accident happened near a rail crossing over Main Street.

Sixty passengers and the crew on board were uninjured. NJ Transit suspended rail service between Suffern and Allendale.

Cross-honoring was in effect for NJ Transit buses and private carriers.
