Being active can increase longevity, but which activities work the best?

Research about the health benefits of specific types of activities is scarce. Researchers from Europe and Australia decided to examine the relationship between six different sports/exercises and the risk of death from heart disease, as well as from all other causes. Three of these activities were head and shoulders above the rest.

The 3 Top Physical Activities to Increase Longevity:

Researchers analyzed data from more than 80,000 people, and it turned out racket sports, swimming and aerobics topped the list of best physical activities for lowering the risk of premature death.

The key here is to stay active. If you choose a physical activity because it is good for you and you don't enjoy it, I don't believe that you will achieve the same benefit as participating in an another activity that you truly enjoy.

Doing something you don't like is stressful and stress is a killer for sure! The other consideration is that if you enjoy an activity, you probably will stick with it for the long run and will not skip as many workouts.
