Charges Filed Against Suspects from Paramus Break-Ins

The three men, who are accused of breaking into businesses on Route 4, were charged today. The fourth suspect died following police fire.

The three men suspected of breaking into a Paramus businesses Wednesday morning with another suspect, who has died, were charged today, according to Bergen County Prosecutor.

Nico Vega, 25, of the Bronx, Josue Felix, 21, of Manhattan and Hector Felix, 24, of Manhattan were each charged with 2nd degree armed burglary (Jennifer Convertibles), 2nd degree armed burglary (NTH 255 LLC), 2nd degree attempted armed burglary (T-Mobile), 2nd degree conspiracy to commit armed burglary, 2nd degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, 3rd degree resisting arrest by fleeing or attempting to flee, 4th degree possession of burglary tools and disorderly persons offense.

Paramus police officers responded to an activated commercial burglar alarm shortly after 4: 30 a.m. Wednesday morning at 255 Rt. 4 West and upon arrival, saw a business’ rear door had been pried open.

An officer then went out to the parking lot and encountered the suspect vehicle, which was occupied by the four New York males.

When the officer approached the vehicle, the driver accelerated, struck the officer and caused him to land on the hood of the suspect vehicle, a 2015 grey Kia K900 bearing NY registration GRV9396.

The officer then fired his weapon multiple times and struck the driver as the suspect vehicle traveled westbound onto Route 4 at a high speed. Failing to negotiate the turn, the driver, identified as Miguel Reyes, 20, of Manhattan, crashed into the center divider on Route 4, exited the vehicle and fled across Route 4 Eastbound.

Reyes was apprehended by River Edge police officers in the area of Route 4 and was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 5:45 a.m.

The police officer sustained a head injury, and injuries to his lower extremities, contusions and bruises. He was treated and released from Hackensack University Medical Center.

Each of the suspects was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail with no ten percent option.
