This Week At The Ramsey Farmers Market

Apple season is here and Orchards of Concklin boasts many varieties picked from their 300 year old farm located in Pomona, NY. Last Sunday was the first week Alie had his Honeycrisps. This tart, juicy apple has a short season of about one month, so as you shop for your fruits and vegetables, make sure you pickup some for lunchboxes or office snacks. Concklins is only 20 minutes from Ramsey - a short drive for a fun- filled day of September apple picking.
Chorizo and black bean, and black bean and roasted corn, are two new varieties of raviolis created by owner Anthony Fontanarosa, All of Fontanarosa's raviolis and pastas are handmade and vary from lobster to mushroom, to mac and cheese - choices to please everyone. A delicious, simple, quick and satisfying dinner = Fontanarosa's.
Hope you've had a chance to meet Julia and Mike, owners of Starving Anthropologists.  Stop by and try the Ramsey Special - their double chocolate/cranberry vegan granola. Delicious!
Meredith's Breads is now offering their crusty, organic, 100% whole wheat bread. Haven't tried Meredith's raspberry nut bars or rugulach? These are a market favorites and freeze so well, too.
JD Gourmet has introduced two new flavors of balsamic- Passion Fruit White Balsamic and Elderbery White Balsamic- perfect for your salad greens. Check out JD's selections of dried pastas, including their new gluten-free sweet potato or wild mushroom linguini.
We would love the hot, hot weather to last to make sure Fernanda always brings her Artisan Ice Pops to our market. Last week Fernanda brought a special ice pop - Canary Melon and Lime. Each week Fernanda shops the market for fruits, vegetable and herbs as her creative spirit spins up new pops for us. So much fun to see her list of pops posted each week and find her latest. Can't just taste one without returning again and again.
This week Ethan Fiks returns again with his songs and guitar licks. Ms. Lorraine will bring her children's crafts for us- always with a market theme.
