Have you ever heard of "earthing" or "grounding"? If you haven't, you are not alone.

This is a basic explanation of earthing or grounding:
Most people have too many positive ions or charges in their bodies. Positive ions create acidity. The more acidic the body is, the less healthy it is.
The earth is more negatively charged and has more negative ions than we do. When we are in contact with the earth, positive ions flow from our bodies into the earth and we become less positively charged and less acidic. Some of the results can include improved health, better sleep and thinner blood. The earth acts as an antioxidant.

Quite a bit of research has been conducted on the physiological effects of grounding. More than a dozen studies have been published in peer-reviewed journals showing its benefit for fighting inflammation, improving the immune response, wound healing, and the prevention and treatment of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
Grounding for Anti-Aging Benefits:
One of the dominant theories on aging is the free radical theory, which is that aging occurs because of accumulative damage to your body caused by free radicals. You get free radicals when you have an injury or chronic inflammation, from breathing, and from the food you eat, among other things. Earthing can help rid your body of excessive free radicals.
Simple Ways to Get Grounded:
1. You can get grounded by walking barefoot on; sand (beach). grass (preferably moist), bare soil, concrete and brick (as long as it’s not painted or sealed) or ceramic tile. The following surfaces will NOT ground you; asphalt, tar, wood, rubber, plastic or vinyl.
2. Go swimming in the ocean. The salt water in the ocean is grounded. This will remove a tremendous amount of positive ions from your body in a short period of time.
3. Sleep on grounding or earthing sheets. These sheets contain very thin wires in a matrix. The grounding sheet is plugged into the third prone or ground on an electrical outlet. I have been sleeping on a grounding sheet for about five years.
4. Grounding mats and grounding bands work in a similar way to grounding sheets.
