Does Your Stomach Really Shrink When You Cut Down on Food?

No, it is not a myth! If you don't use it, you will lose it!

When you eat large quantities of food, your stomach will stretch out and expand to accommodate this increase in food intake. Competitive eaters sometimes “train” by quickly drinking large quantities of water to accomplish this stomach stretching.

If you are looking for a way to “trick” your stomach into getting “smaller,” try the opposite, by eating smaller meals throughout the day.

Scientists are split whether or not eating smaller meals more frequently will help you to lose weight, but what it will do is to make your stomach contract, which in turn will help you to feel fuller when eating less food.

This concept is not agreed to by all doctors, researchers and scientists. After all, when have they all ever agreed on just about anything?

Another helpful hint is to eat slower and to chew your food for about twice as long as you would normally. That will allow for better digestion and also cause you to eat less.

You should also try to reduce or eliminate added sugar from your diet, as well as to increase healthy fats in your diet. Healthy fats include; avocados, products made from grass-fed organic milk, organic pastured egg yolks, coconuts and coconut oil, unheated organic nut oils, raw nuts, and grass-fed meats, as well as animal-based omega-3s.
