Linden Man Arrested, Charged with Sexual Assault of 13-year-old Girl
The suspect and alleged victim first met in an online chat room before meeting in person.
A Linden man was arrested Monday after authorities found he allegedly engaged in inappropriate activities with a 13-year-old girl.
Robert W. Cubala, 28, was arrested after his alleged 13-year-old victim reported him to Fair Lawn police on Sept. 25 and claimed Cubala sexually assaulted her after meeting on an Internet chat site and eventually meeting in person. The assault took place in Elmwood Park, according to Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli
Cubala was charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. Bail was set at $250,000 with no ten percent option, no contact with the victim and the surrender of his passport ass a condition of bail.

Cubala was subsequently remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail. He is expected to be arraigned Oct. 8.
