Man Faces More Serious Charges After Victim In Ramsey Hit-And-Run Dies

A 27-year-old Mahwah man now faces new and more serious charges in connection with a hit-and-run that occurred in Ramsey on Aug. 15.
Samuel Tarrant, 55, of Kew Gardens, N.Y. died Monday at Westchester Medical Center as a result of injuries suffered in the collision , according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Thomas Moylan faces charges that are the result of a cooperative and on-going investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit.

Moylan was re-arrested by Ramsey Police Monday without incident.
He has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision, and being involved in a fatal motor vehicle collision while driving with a suspended license. A new bail was set by Judge Russell B. Teschon, at $50,000, with no 10 percent option.

Prosecutor John Molinelli states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Ramsey Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
