Bergen Man Allegedly Beat 8-Year-Old With Belt: Prosecutor
The boy had several bruises and lacerations on his body, authorities said. Kenneth Carr was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

A man was arrested after authorities found multiple bruises and lacerations on an 8-year-old when he was taken to the hospital last week, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
The mother of an 8-year-old boy with multiple ”bruises and lacerations,” brought him to the emregency room at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Tuesday, Molinelli said.
The boy told authorities he was physically abused by a male acquaintance in Fairview, Molinelli said. Hospital staff notified the Englewood Police Department and the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency.

Members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Fairview Police Department conducted a joint investigation.
Kenneth Carr, of Fairview, was arrested after authorities learned he allegedly struck the boy multiple times with a belt and punched him in the chest, Molinelli said.

Carr, 43, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Carr was remanded to Bergen County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail with no 10 percent option, Molinelli said. Carr is to have no contact with the victim and his children and must surrender his passport when released on bail.
