Bergen Man Charged With Armed Robbery Of Gas Station

An Upper Saddle River man was charged with armed robbery of a Delta gas station after a three-week investigation, said Gurbir S. Grewal, Bergen County's acting prosecutor.

Marco G. Minuto, 39, allegedly assaulted a gas station attendant at about 8:10 p.m. July 3 by throwing him to the ground, Grewal said. Minuto allegedly brandished a handgun and demanded money from the attendant, the prosecutor said.

After getting $1,000, Minuto ran behind the gas station and escaped in a vehicle, authorities said.

After a three-week investigation by the prosecutor's Special Investigations Squad and the Upper Saddle River and Park Ridge police departments, Grewal said.

Mintuo was arrested at his Upper Saddle River home Tuesday. In addition to armed robbery, he was charged with possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Grewal said.

Minuto was lodged in the Bergen County Jail as of Tuesday night, Grewal said. His bail was set at $500,000 with no 10 percent option.
