Ramsey Medical Assistant Accused Of Forging Prescriptions: Police

A medical assistant at Care-Point Medial Center in Ramsey was arrested after authorities discovered she was allegedly trying to fill fake prescriptions at local pharmacies, police said.

Ashia Moore, 25, allegedly stole blank prescription pads, forged doctor’s names and signatures on them, and attempted to fill the prescriptions at Walgreen’s in Ramsey and several other pharmacies in Hackensack, Chief Bryan Gurney said.

Members of the Ramsey Police Department, Hackensack Police Department, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Moore’s Hackensack residence Friday where she was arrested.

Moore was charged with obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud, a criminal count of forgery, and receiving stolen property. She was remanded to the Bergen County Jail on $100,000 bail with no 10 percent option, Gurney said.

Moore is due to appear in Ramsey Municipal Court Dec. 22.
