Morano’s Showcases Big Blue Pride On East Main
Giants drop season opener despite good luck vibes coming from gourmet market in Ramsey

Passersby on East Main Street Wednesday likely noticed an addition to the streetscape: a big, blow-up NY Giant.
Owner of Greg Morano said the giant Giant graces the entrances to his market leading up to every game of the season. “This place has become Giants headquarters,” the Ramsey resident said. “We’ve been putting these [blow-ups] up before every Giants game for the past six years.”
In addition to giving the reigning Super Bowl champs good luck, Morano said the blow-up “is a fun thing for the community. You’ll see families walking by who stop to take pictures with him.”

Morano, who has lived in Ramsey for 22 years, opened the eatery and market a decade ago. Morano’s offers freshly made food on premises to either eat-in or take-out, Italian gourmet specialties for sale, a bakery and catering menu.
The Big Blue fan said customers come in now not only for his food, but for his weekly “Morano’s Picks.” Unfortunately this week, his prediction for the score of the Giants season opener Wednesday night was a bit off.

While Morano guessed a 41-13 victory for the Giants over the Cowboys Wednesday, the Super Bowl XLVI champs actually fell to Dallas, 24-17.
Despite the unexpected loss, residents and shoppers on East Main can expect the blow-up Giant back on the street in time for the team’s next game, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday, September 16.
