More alcoholic beverages are consumed New Year's Eve than any other day of the year. Be safe and don't drink and drive. With that being said, there are ways to reduce the chances of having a hangover on New Year's Day.

The accumulation of acetaldehyde causes a hangover. Acetaldehyde is produced in the human body when ethyl alcohol is broken down. Acetaldehyde is up to 30 times more toxic than the alcohol itself.

Taking a combination of N-acetyl cysteine (NAC), B vitamins, milk thistle, and vitamin C before you drink may help to stave off a hangover. Staying hydrated, drinking in moderation and only on a full stomach are also very important.

Hangover remedies to try include bone broth for minerals, coconut water for electrolytes, eggs for natural cysteine, ginger for nausea and coconut for potassium.
