No Guns, Additional Bullets Found After Lockdown of a Bergen County HS

A bullet found in Leonia High School Wednesday afternoon caused the school to be placed under lockdown.

No guns or additional ammunition was found in a Bergen County high school that was placed under lockdown Wednesday afternoon after a bullet was found in the lower level of the building at 1:30 p.m.

Cliffview Pilot reported that Bergen County Police search dogs were brought into Leonia High School and searched the premises while students were taken to the gym. Students were released at 3:45 p.m. after the search did not turn up any findings.

Calls to the Leonia Police Department, Bergen County Police and Leonia High School were unsuccessful.

A “reverse 911” email was sent to parents making them aware of the lockdown, officials said.
