Paterson Man Arrested in Bergen County After Taking Boy to Motel
Daniel Vergara, 53, was arrested and charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

A Paterson man was arrested Sunday after allegedly taking a 12-year-old boy to motel without consent and being stopped by South Hackensack police.
During the child’s interview by a detective from the Special Victims Unit at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, the child provided specific details regarding his relationship with Vergara, according to Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli.
Daniel Vergara, 53, was arrested and charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Bail was set at $75,000 with no ten percent option and no contact with the victim as a condition of bail.
Vergara was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
