Pet Parade, Cleaning Drive at Spring Festival

The Route 17 Home Depot is hosting the amped up community event this weekend.

The Home Depot’s annual Spring Festival is expanding this year. So, when you head out to learn about spring home projects, be sure to bring some extra cash for cleaning supply donations, and Fido for a pet costume contest with you.

“This year, we wanted to really make this a community event,” Sharon VanCisco-Boccadoro, a Mahwah Home Depot Home Services Coordinator, said.

The Spring Festival is happening this Saturday, inside the store, and in the Home Depot parking lot, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“It’s a home services event, so we will have information about starting a home project, free estimates for Home Depot installations and other services, and other aspects like that,” she said. “But we are also adding a bunch of new things.”

Those include a Cleaning Products Drive, which will collect cleaning products to be donated to the Center for Food Action in Mahwah. The drive is ongoing through Saturday, and asks residents to purchase cleaning products at the Home Depot to donate in bins at the front of the store.

Also Saturday, families are encouraged to bring their dogs for a costume pet parade. Pets will get to strut their stuff, and representatives from the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. animal shelter will be on hand to answer questions. Entrants in the parade must enter at the store prior to the event.
