Police Police Warn Residents To Stay Away From Bear Spotted In The Area

Several residents have reported seeing the animal, police said.

RAMSEY, N.J. - Police warn residents to stay away from a small bear that was spotted in the area Sunday morning, officials said.

Residents should be cautious around the animal, police also said.

The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife recommends yelling, banging pots and pans together, or using an airhorn to scare bears away.

Residents should never feed a bear and avoid direct eye contact whenever possible.
