Ramsey BOE Pres. Accused Of Trying To Fire Hockey Coach Over Son's Playing Time: Report
Anthony Gasparovich has been accused of trying to oust Coach Dean Portas over his son not playing a lot, according to a report.

RAMSEY, NJ — The Board of Education president is accused of trying to fire the head high school hockey coach due to his son's lack of playing time, according to a report.
President Tony Gasparovich sent an email to coach Dean Portas, the athletic director and superintendent requesting a meeting to discuss "conduct between the hockey staff and players," according to The Record.
Portas, who won a state group championship last season, said he and Gasparovich spoke, but never met in person, about how his son could improve his skills, but would not guarantee that he would dress for a varsity game, the report said.
