Ramsey Expected to Announce New Superintendent Tuesday

The district received 13 applications for the job, officials said

The Ramsey Board of Education Tuesday night is expected to announce its choice for a new Superintendent. The board posted notice on its website of a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. at which it plans to make the announcement.

The district has been without a permanent leader since last year, when the state’s Superintendent salary cap prompted Roy Montesano to leave Ramsey for a job in NY. The district hired former Superintendent Bruce DeYoung to come back to the job in an interim role this year.

According to a statement DeYoung made at the last Board of Education meeting, the district received 13 applications for the job, which it quickly whittled down to five that received interviews. Two stood out as potential candidates, he said.
