Ramsey To Hold September 11 Memorial Service At Finch Park

RAMSEY, NJ — Ramsey residents can come together Friday evening to remember the lives lost in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The borough’s September 11 Memorial Service will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at Finch Park, according to Ramsey’s municipal calendar.

The gathering comes 25 years after hijacked planes struck the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon outside Washington. A fourth plane, United Airlines Flight 93, crashed in Pennsylvania after passengers and crew members attempted to regain control from the hijackers, according to the National Park Service.

A total of 2,977 people were killed in the attacks, according to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

For Ramsey residents, the local ceremony offers an opportunity to pause together and remember the victims and others affected by the attacks.

The borough’s announcement does not identify scheduled speakers or provide details about the ceremony’s program. It also does not mention a rain location or say whether attendees should bring chairs.
