Ramsey Lagging in Moe's High School Burrito Day Competition

The restaurant is running a Facebook contest that will reward the local high school that can get the most Facebook votes

If Ramsey High School students want to have a day at Moe’s Southwest Grill dedicated to them, they need to take to Facebook.

The Moe’s in Mahwah is running a ‘Burrito Day High School Competition’ on its Facebook page. The contest pits 10 area high schools against one another. The school that gets the most votes by April 30 will have a day this May dedicated to students from the school.

According to Moe’s Manager Matt Marciniak, students from whichever high school gets the most votes will be able to pick a day in May, show their student ID at Moe’s on that day, and get $2 burritos. Burritos on the Moe’s menu normally cost somewhere between $7 and $8.

“We haven’t done anything like this before, but a Moe’s in Long Island had a similar competition and it was successful, so we thought people here might have fun with it, too,” Marciniak said.

But, as of Thursday morning, Ramsey High School is way behind in the polls. Indian Hills High School is in first place with over 170 votes, and Ramsey is tied for fourth with only 3. Don Bosco Prep is in last place, with no votes.

Marciniak said the franchise is also prepping for its Cinco de Mayo celebration, when everyone, regardless of high school affiliation, will get $5 burritos and kids will eat free. But, only one school will win the High School championship. For more details, visit the Moe’s Facebook page.
