Ramsey Plans Nine-Road Repaving

As part of its 2013 road improvement program, nine roads throughout Ramsey will get a facelift this year.

At a borough council meeting Wednesday, officials approved a plan to once again take part in a multi-town regional cooperative that seeks group rates on road resurfacing projects each year. According to borough administrator Bruce Vozeh, nine towns are participating in the group this year. The total cost for paving all of the roads in all nine towns is about $3M, Vozeh said.

Though each town pays for its own work, Vozeh says the group allows for a cost-savings to the towns that are essentially buying in bulk.

The borough is planning to pave the following roadways this year:

• North Spruce Street (Island Ave to end)
• Overlook Court (E. Crescent to end)
• Church St (Main St to Gertzen Plaza)
• Swan St (Rt 17 ROW to RR Station)
• Dogwood Terrace
• Norman Drive (Culvert to House #196)
• Canterbury Drive (House # 211 to 276)
• Crest Road

The Ramsey portion of the project is estimated to cost about $332,000. 

Vozeh said details within the cooperative are not yet solidified, and the borough is not yet sure when the work will take place.
