Ramsey Public Education Foundation grants $60,406.54 to the Ramsey Board of Education

Ramsey Public Education Foundation President, Cindy Weir, recently presented a grant check in the amount of $60,406.54 to the Ramsey Board of Education.

This year’s RPEF grant money will be used on multiple levels across the Ramsey School District including, for the first time, the Special Services Department. The 2014-2015 grant money awarded will provide enrichment programs and technologies such as Speaker Honorariums and a Character Education Initiative at the High School, the Theater Arts and Character Education Program at Smith School, the Ramsey Alive weekly TV show and Spring Musical at Dater School, and an iPad Cart complete with 11 iPads for both Hubbard and Tisdale Schools.

The RPEF is also proudly funding a district-wide grant through which 18 Ramsey Faculty members will attend the 2015 Summer Institute for Reading and Writing at Teachers College, Columbia University.

In addition, and also new this year, Innovative Educator Grants allowed Ramsey teachers to apply for monies to fund innovative and creative programs for their students and classrooms. The RPEF would like to thank the Ramsey School District administration and faculty members, local businesses, and our community members for supporting us in our successful fundraising efforts this past year which included our first ever “Sprint for our Schools” 5K & Family Fun Run.
