Ramsey ShopRite Employees Featured on Cheerios Box
One of the 'celeb' employees is from the borough

Two Ramsey ShopRite employees will have a claim to fame thanks to their efforts to give back to the community.
According to a release from Inserra Supermarkets, Ramsey store’s Samantha Leach of Garfield and Jessica McPeek of Ramsey are featured on a Cheerios box, along with employees from seven of the Mahwah-based company's ShopRite stores.
The 14 employees are part of the chain’s ShopRite Partners in Caring initiative, which works to raise awareness and funds to alleviate hunger in their local communities during National Hunger Action Month. The two Ramsey employees, as well as employees from the ShopRites in Hackensack, Lodi, Lyndhurst, and Wayne, as well as Stony Point and Garnerville, N.Y., to grace the face of Cheerios boxes because of their commitment to the program.

“These associates are goodwill ambassadors who give that extra effort and go above and beyond to inspire their peers and tap into their creativity to help those who cannot afford to put food on their tables,” Lawrence Inserra, Jr., president and CEO of Inserra, which owns and operates a total of 22 stores throughout New Jersey and New York State, said in the release. “They are our very own ‘celebrities’ and deserve this level of special recognition, which is often reserved for Olympians.”
According to the release, ShopRites in six states work together every September on the Partners in Caring initiative, which raised an unprecedented $1.25 million for regional food banks this year. To recognize the dedication and efforts of the top 40 stores, located throughout New Jersey, New York, Connecticut , Delaware , Pennsylvania and Maryland , 81 ShopRite associates are being featured on a special-edition General Mills Cheerios box, available only at ShopRite.

The other “celebrity” associates include the Hackensack store’s Doug McDaniell of Garfield and Margherita Ciccone of Little Ferry; Lodi store’s Anthony Gramuglia of Paramus and Lou Blaso of Washington Township; Lyndhurst store’s Bill Petsch of Bayonne and Terry Gencarelli of Lyndhurst; Wayne store’s Jose Marroquin of Belleville and Marcia Kershaw of West Milford; Stony Point store’s Peter Cavo of Maywood and Erin Feustes of Stony Point; and Garnerville store’s Rob Wilson of Dumont and GinaMarie Peifley of Pomona, N.Y.
