Registration Deadline Tuesday for $58M School Budget Vote
Ramsey residents must register by 9 p.m. in order to vote on the proposed school budget, and to choose between four candidates running for three seats on the Board of Education

Ramsey residents who plan to vote on this year’s school budget need to be registered by Tuesday night at 9 p.m.

The Ramsey Board of Education is hosting a budget presentation and public hearing Wednesday night to outline details of the proposed 2013-14 spending plan. According to NorthJersey.com, the $58.4M budget calls for a 0.2% tax increase for the average homeowner in Ramsey, with a house valued at $427,200. The increase translates to about $14.87, the report said.

Voters will decide on the budget in a vote on April 16. They will also choose between four candidates for three seats on the board – incumbents Carrie Williams, Timothy Finnegan, and Claudia Monteith, and resident Reena Chawla.
