School Board Incumbents Easily Win Reelection

Claudia Monteith, Carrie Williams, and Tim Finnegan won three-year terms on the Ramsey Board of Education Tuesday, according to unofficial results

Three incumbents running for seats on the Ramsey Board of Education easily won Tuesday’s election, according to unofficial results released by borough clerk Meredith Bendian Tuesday night.

Current board members Claudia Monteith, Carrie Williams, and Timothy Finnegan each won another three-year term on the board. According to the results, the trio received 1,055, 994, and 987 votes, respectively.

Newcomer Reena Chawla came in fourth place. Initial results indicate she received 471 votes.

Of the 10,326 voters registered in Ramsey, 1,510 – or about 14.6% - turned out to vote.

Voters also chose to pass the proposed 2013-14 school budget by an overwhelming majority.
