tcby Plans to Open Ramsey Location Next Month
The franchise owner says locals can expect a new self-serve fro-yo shop on Franklin Turnpike

Walgreens, Starbucks and FedEx are getting a new neighbor.
tcby, which kids from the 80’s and 90’s may remember as one of the first frozen yogurt franchises or a sweet treat at pit stops along highway drives, is bringing its new self-serve model to Ramsey.
According to tcby franchise owner Kishan Kansagra, he is excited to bring the brand to the borough at a location in the Walgreens shopping plaza on Franklin Turnpike.

“We are under construction, so it’s hard to give an exact opening date,” Kansagra said. “But, we hope to be open the first week of March, with a grand opening celebration planned for sometime in April.”
Kansagra said that after opening two other tcby locations in the past two years, he was looking for a place with an outdoor space, and thought Ramsey would be the perfect spot for his third shop.

"We’ve had a location in the Paramus Park mall for about a year-and-a-half, and recently opened one in the Woodbridge Mall,” he said. “We wanted a place where we could be outside, have a real family atmosphere and a place that had good foot traffic. This was perfect.”
But, if you are only familiar with the tcby of yesteryear, you are in for a surprise. According to Kansagra, the company rebranded and revamped its model in 2010, moving to a self-serve model.
“The company is still the same with the same product, but with a different way of serving it to the customer,” he said. Once it opens, the Ramsey tcby plans to offer customers six machines with 12 flavors and over 50 toppings to choose from.
The taste of the yogurt, however, is the same one customers will remember.
“I really think the quality of the product is what sets us apart,” Kansagra said. “We truly believe that tcby is the best, [and] we are happy to be able to provide a nutritious and delicious frozen yogurt place in a busy area of Ramsey.”
