William Jones, Republican Candidate for Ramsey Borough Council Seat
Jones is seeking his third term in office

William “Bill” Jones is a Republican candidate for a seat on the Ramsey Borough Council. Jones has served two terms on the council, and is seeking reelection to his third term.
Jones, 47, grew up in East Rutherford and served on the town council there beginning when he was 23-years-old. “My father was a councilman there, and I always felt the same need to give back to the community,” he said.
Jones has lived in Ramsey for 14 years, and has three kids going through the Ramsey school system. For the past 18-and-a-half years, Jones worked as a salesman, marketing manager and Director of Operations for Englewood Tire. He recently founded a consulting company.

Jones said he has volunteered as a coach in town for many years, and currently serves as a rec softball coach in Ramsey. He served for three years on the Ramsey Planning Board before taking office in 2006.
Jones said he wants to run to continue to look for “better, more creative ways to keep the town affordable. I care about the community I live in. I’m raising my kids here, I have a vested interest in the town.”

He cited some “equipment and major infrastructure” decisions as important issues currently facing Ramsey. For Jones, upcoming important decisions the council needs to make include whether or not to purchase new DPW and fire department equipment, how to maintain the water and sewer system, and whether to repair or upgrade the town pool.
