A woman was struck and killed by a NJ Transit train on the tracks near the Ridgewood station Saturday morning, The Record reported.
The woman was struck by the 1857 train heading for Waldwick, the report states. The woman was pronounced dead at 8:37 a.m.
NJ Transit spokeswoman Jennifer Nelson called the death a “confirmed fatality,” the report states, and that only a medical examiner could determine whether it was a suicide.

The train had 13 passengers and three crew members, none of whom were injured; it left Hoboken at 7:19 and was set to arrive in Waldwick at 8:09 a.m., the report states.
Service was temporarily suspended in both directions between Ridgewood and Secaucus, according to the report.
