Worker Airlifted After ‘Severe’ Industrial Accident

The man was pulled into a lathe when his clothing snagged in the machinery, authorities said.

An employee at an Arrow Road business was airlifted to Hackensack University Medical Center after he was dragged through a machine he was working with Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The 43-year-old man was working with a lathe at Leem Filtration at about 12:45 p.m. Friday when “a piece of his clothing [got] caught in the lathe, dragging him into the machine,” Ramsey Police Chief Bryan Gurney said.

The man suffered a compound fracture to one of his arms, a “severe” back injury and a head injury, Gurney said.
