RANDOLPH, NJ — Motorists should expect significant traffic delays next week as the intersection of Park Avenue and Pleasant Hill Road will be closed for the installation of a new water main line.

On Monday, July 13, a signed detour will be in place, and police officers will be stationed near the work zone to assist with traffic.

Drivers are encouraged to expect delays and use alternate routes whenever possible.

The closure is part of Phase 2 of the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority's water main replacement program, which includes the installation of a new 12-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) water main to replace a section of the existing 24-inch prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP) along Pleasant Hill Road between Mel Drive and Spring Brook Drive.

The project also includes repaving portions of Pleasant Hill Road from Marre Drive to just east of Park Avenue following Phase 1 and Phase 2 construction.

Construction is scheduled to continue through August 31 with work taking place weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During this time, portions of Pleasant Hill Road will remain fully closed with posted detours.

Residents and property owners within the work area should anticipate limited driveway access during construction activities and are encouraged to plan accordingly.
