The Home Garden Club of Morristown will be sponsoring a free lecture entitled, “A Year of Blooming Bulbs” given by Ilona Ontscherenki on October 21, 1:00 pm, at the Morris County Library, 30 E. Hanover Ave., Whippany, NJ.
“A Year of Blooming Bulbs” takes us from fall planting for spring/summer bloom to forcing bulbs for indoor displays this winter. Bulbs are great additions to your garden because most are perennial, returning and multiplying every year. Plus, just about all of them, except tulips and lilies, are deer proof and generally pest free. Learn about planting techniques and the best varieties from which to choose at this timely talk.
Ilona became a Rutgers Master Gardener fifteen years ago after a career as an economist. She gardens both inside and outside of a deer fence on five acres in Chester and has planted many thousands of bulbs there over the past 30 years. Her garden will be open for the Garden Conservancy again in 2027.
