Actress-Singer Jane Lynch Brings Comedy Talents To Red Bank

She's been on sitcoms and in movies; later this month you can see her up close.

If you love her portrayal of Sue Sylvester on “Glee” or saw her Broadway debut as Miss Hannigan in “Annie,” you’re in for a treat: Jane Lynch is coming to the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank.

Lynch, whose credits run the gamut from sitcoms like “Two and a Half Men” to “iCarly,” to voiceovers for animated shows like “Phineas and Ferb” and movies like “Wreck It Ralph, to dramatic roles like playing the mentally ill mother of Dr. Spencer Reid on ”Criminal Minds,” is the star of the musical comedy tour, “See Jane Sing.”

The cabaret tour will stop at Count Basie on Thursday, April 23. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are available and start at $49, according to the theatre’s website.

In “See Jane Sing,” Lynch, who is an Emmy and Golden Globe winner, takes audiences on a musical journey through a world of songs from Broadway to cabaret that delight the crowd with new takes on “If Wishes Were Rainbows,” “Mr. Monotony,” “Far From the Home I Love,” and “Skeletons/Blood” from A Mighty Wind.

Not your typical Broadway narrative, Lynch, accompanied by a five-piece band, builds the evening around her musical chops and comedic wit and charm. Joining her on stage for parts of the show is special guest Kate Flannery of “The Office,” who plays Lynch’s mischievous vocal partner.
