RED BANK, NJ — A local salon is teaming up with a New Jersey-based nonprofit to support single moms and their kids and give local moms a donated day of restorative care.
Resèt Salon & Head Spa, located on Broad Street in Red Bank, has partnered with the S.M.A.R.T. (Single Moms All Rise Together) Foundation for a three-month initiative that will donate 10% of the salon's select services to the organization, which supports single moms and their kids.
This partnership will culminate in Back To Confidence Day in October, when Resèt will close its schedule to welcome three single mothers for a fully donated day of restorative care, including head spa treatments, facials, hair services, wellness experiences, take-home products, and professional portraits.
Danielle Fiorentino, the founder and owner of Resèt, said her inspiration to partner with the S.M.A.R.T. Foundation comes from a love of giving back.
"If you don't feel good or you don't feel like yourself, you can't show up for others," she told Patch. "Single moms always show up for their children and sometimes they struggle with everyday things. This initiative aims to give back and provide care for them."
The Back To Confidence Day initiative with the S.M.A.R.T. Foundation falls into a greater wellness series that the salon is running throughout the year, titled "The Year of Reset."
Divided into chapters, this initiative is Chapter II of the series, Fiorentino told Patch, called Realign (Chapter I was "Revealed," Chapter III is "Illuminate," and Chapter IV is "Awaken").
"I thought that chapter fell in line great with the S.M.A.R.T. Foundation, because it's like realigning yourself, right?" Fiorentino said. "Getting back to your confidence, getting back to yourself, and feeling like yourself."
In an effort to help single moms get back to themselves during the salon's Realign chapter, Fiorentino will close Resèt on Back To Confidence Day for the three women nominated to participate in the event.
On this day, participating moms will get a special spa treatment including a head spa, facial and blowout, as well as a lunch provided for them.
Funds from the salon's partnership will go toward the foundation's year-long BuildHER Grant, which aims to help bridge the gap for single moms who often earn too much to qualify for assistance, yet still struggle to move ahead.
At Resèt, Fiorentino said she aims for her salon to be somewhere people don't feel rushed in and rushed out of and can come relax while still prioritizing their wellness – particularly hair, skin and scalp health.
"At Resèt, we believe you are the most important project you will ever work on," Fiorentino said. "Reset, restart and refocus as many times as you need to. Just don't ever give up on yourself. You are worth it."
