1 Injured After SUV Collides With Pickup Truck, State Police Say

The crash occurred early Sunday after the SUV lost directional control, hit a guardrail and collided with the truck, authorities said.

TINTON FALLS, NJ — One person was brought to an area hospital following a crash on the Garden State Parkway on Sunday morning, NJ State Police Trooper Christopher Postorino told Patch.

At 10:40 a.m. on Sunday, troopers responded to the crash on the Garden State Parkway south at milepost 106.6 in Tinton Falls.

Based on preliminary investigation, Postorino said the driver of a Chevrolet SUV lost directional control of the vehicle, struck the left guardrail, then collided with a Ford pickup truck.

As a result of the crash, one passenger of the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries and was brought to an area hospital. There were no other injuries reported on scene.

Authorities have not released the identities of those involved in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation, Postorino said.

As of Monday morning, no additional information was available.
