ARTISTS' BOOK WORKSHOP THIS SATURDAY AT CANVAS

This Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 12 to 3 pm, local educator and book artist, Kate Okeson, will be leading a workshop to help artists create an artists' book, a work of art realized in book form. Teens and adults of all levels will work with Okeson to create their own personal narrative in book form. Each book project will include bindings and interiors.  Artists' books are a wonderful way to express creative ideas. The cost is $150 and includes all the materials needed to complete a book.

Since 2002, Okeson has been a fine arts educator at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School in Rumson, NJ.  A graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University with a concentration in Artists’ Books, Photography and Installation and the College of Education at Seton Hall University, Okeson has taught at CANVAS and other schools throughout New Jersey.  She has previously exhibited her artwork at galleries in New Jersey and New York.
