Job Seekers Must Navigate difficult times with storm impact
Neighbors-helping-Neighbors USA, a free weekly support and networking group for job seekers
As the Founder of Neighbors-helping-Neighbors USA, I want to first wish all our friends in Monmouth County a steady recovery with getting their lives and homes back to someplace closer to normal, as we seem to learn everyday there seems to be no normal anymore.
It is times like this that make everyone stop and pause to realize how quickly all our lives can change, and how people will step up to help each other when it is needed.
We have encouraged all our NhN members to do volunteer work to help out where they can. An we set up a facebook page to share information on the storm recovery http://www.facebook.com/groups/105126566317969/

We have been in constant touch with our library partners who support our groups by allowing us to use their meeting space every week, to conduct our wonderful job search support and networking meetings.
Many of our libraries have played a role in helping their communites in getting electronic devices charged, making computes and internet available for those who do not have it do to the storm, or due to their financial situation.

We are happy to know that our Middletown Twp group will meet as normal this week. And we are in touch with all the other groups to make sure our members can return to weekly meetings as soon as possible.
My advice is to keep working on your job search, be more patient than normal as many people who you want to hear from have their own personal situations to deal with and unfortunately hiring is on a back burner when crisis management is needed.
Helping with community groups, churches and food banks is all good ways to spend your spare time, and will provide you with more networking possiblities as you will meet people you would have not ever met.
many may lose their jobs due to business destruction and drop off in customer spending...we are here for you please come attend our meetings. www.nhnusa.org
The job search process is set back now to with most companies dealing with the distrubtion to their business, dealing with employees and customers who have been impacted by this terrible storm.
Please feel free to email me with any concerns thoughts and ideas you have that can help our 1000+ members who are all very qualified and have character beyond the average job seeker, these people are all helping others during their own situation of unemployment, and that says a lot about all of them.
