LifeStyle Lift—and Other Procedures Like It
LifeStyle Lift is one of a few national companies that license its technique to doctors But like everything that sounds too good to be true, there is much to be considered when you scratch the surface
LifeStyle Lift is one of a handful of national companies that license their name and technique to doctors around the U.S. Their extensive advertising boasts about the ease and efficacy of these procedures, and show impressive before & after results.
There are a number of other similar procedures, with names such as Mini Facelift, Thread Lift and Feather Lift.
But like everything that sounds too good to be true, there is much to be considered when you scratch the surface—so to speak—as this is exactly what these procedures do; they deal with the surface. These minimally invasive procedures techniques often provide a temporary solution to the aging phenomena that have occurred over years, if not decades. In other words, they pull on more surface tissues to help improve the appearance of the deeper tissues, in problem areas such as the face and neck. While some of these minimal techniques may create satisfactory results for younger patients with early signs of aging, they don’t do much for older patients who typically have more severe forms of facial aging. Some of the techniques, such as the Thread Lift, are no longer being performed due to infection and skin breakdown over the threads. Patients need to also consider the longevity of these less invasive procedures. The results typically last for a fraction of the time of a more traditional face and neck lift.
Let’s look at a true facelift performed by highly qualified surgeons, such as those at the Plastic Surgery Center. Modern facelift surgery is radically different than the more minimally invasive procedures that would deal only with the skin by stretching and tightening the face. A more traditional facelift addresses not only the skin, but also the deeper structures to provide a stable framework where the tightened skin may lay. A good facelift should follow the natural contours of the face to provide lasting results for a good 10-12 years.
Don’t just guess or go off what you read on the Internet. At The Plastic Surgery Center, we offer complimentary facelift consultations with one of our facelift expert plastic surgeons. After a thorough evaluation your surgeon will help you decide whether a facelift is a good and safe option for you. Commonly, our surgeons will discuss other facial procedures that can be performed at the same time as the facelift to improve your overall results and maintain a facial balance.
