Event Details
For this exhibition, I sought work that pushed the boundaries of botanical art. There are no exacting details like those in Redouté's masterful Les Roses engravings. Instead, these images are about essences. They evoke and suggest. They offer new ways of looking at trees, seeds and flowers. They are 21st-century botanicals.
In addition to Kevin Hinkle's and my work, I invited three other artists to create an exciting, cohesive exhibition that explores and exploits the theme. Suzan Globus pounds flowers into raw canvas; Daniel Sroka zooms in on the tiniest details; and Gao Yuan transforms her photographs into wall sculptures. Kevin Hinkle and I create fused images.
I hope you'll join us in this adventure of discovery.
This event is free and everyone is invited.
