RED BANK, NJ — Lunch Break is inviting local businesses, organizations and community members to step up to the plate and sponsor one of the organization’s most beloved summer traditions.

Lunch Break's Annual Community Picnic & Backpack Giveaway will take place on Saturday, August 15, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Count Basie Park in Red Bank.

For over two decades, the Annual Community Picnic has brought together families, volunteers and community partners for a joyful day filled with food, music, games, wellness resources and fellowship.

The event also serves as a critical back-to-school support initiative, providing backpacks and school supplies to local children preparing for the upcoming academic year.

Each year, more than 1,000 community members attend the picnic, which also features the popular Softball Classic and Annual Wellness Fair with participation from more than 30 local nonprofits and service organizations.

Lunch Break is currently seeking sponsors to help make the event possible.

Sponsorship opportunities include tents and event setup, bounce houses, games, music, wellness activities, food and more, with sponsorship levels ranging from $250 to $3,500, and customized food sponsorship opportunities also available.

Sponsors will receive recognition across Lunch Break’s social media platforms, inclusion in event signage and promotional materials, acknowledgment during the softball tournament opening ceremony and recognition in a post-event e-blast distributed to more than 11,000 supporters.

“We are incredibly grateful for the businesses and community partners who continue to make this event possible year after year,” said Millie Jeter, Director of Administration at Lunch Break.

“The Annual Community Picnic is more than just a summer celebration, it’s an opportunity to bring families together, support local children and remind our neighbors that they are cared for and supported by this community.”

Lunch Break is also accepting donations of new, sturdy backpacks and school supplies for elementary, middle school and high school students.

Community members interested in sponsoring the event, donating supplies, or participating in the Wellness Fair are encouraged to get involved.
