Count Basie Theatre Showing Prince Film 'Purple Rain' Free
Bring a canned food item as your price of admission; you must reserve a seat, however.
RED BANK, NJ -- Fans of Prince who have been saddened by the death of the music superstar have an opportunity to celebrate his life at a free screening of "Purple Rain" on Sunday.
Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank is limiting the showing to 1,500 ticketholders (you can reserve yours here and they were still available as of Saturday morning) for the 8 p.m. screening.
"As we know from the past, there is good that can come from the saddest of circumstances," the theatre wrote in a post announcing the free screening.

"With this in mind, we’re asking patrons to bring canned food items as their price of admission. We will donate these items to Lunch Break, here in Red Bank," the announcement said.
"Patrons will be required to download a free ticket above, or acquire free tickets at our box office during regular business hours. Seating will be limited to the first 1,500 ticketholders."
