Entertaining Spaces

When two of our dealers decided to tie the knot after 27 years, they found an extraordinary place to have their party: the Emporium. Although it might sound peculiar to entertain in an "antique store", the spacious shop lent itself to the cause in seamless fashion. After all, when surrounded by table settings, silver, and casual and formal vignettes, party ideas are easy to find. All the ingredients for the perfect party were already in place. Besides that, it was the only place Shirley would consider having a wedding reception. She wanted all the dealers there since she considered them all "family".  All were in attendance.  The was music, dancing, champagne, food and lots of laughter.
It was the beginning of a new chapter for the newlyweds, but it was also a new chapter for the store, so to speak. Since our shop is approximately 5000 square feet, we can host such events without much fuss or concern for room. Dealers have even come back from buying trips or sales with new entertaining pieces and vintage housewares. We continue to entertain at the Emporium, but we can also help you pull together the right pieces for your party, whether it is a formal soiree or a simple get-together. The glassware and accoutrements we carry will ensure you're prepared to host either of them. Need a decanter for the wine? Got it. Looking for extra guest seating? Got it. We even have a bar (or 2) if you need to purchase one of them for your Man Cave.
Since the wedding reception, we have hosted a plethora of other events. We have served as the registration site for all the "Girl's Night Out" tours since its inception (five times, to date). We have been the guest house to both the

  • Navesink Business Group Cocktail Party and to the River Center Quarterly Business Breakfast meeting. Additionally, we have held our own Mother's Day Fashion Show and various private shopping parties for up to 20 people. We are lucky to also have such great neighbors on Monmouth Street to help with the food. After all, how do you host a perfect party without quick bites and sweets?  You offer up a platter of cheeses from The Cheese Cave (14 Monmouth Street) and delectable sweets from The Cupcake Magician (54 Monmouth Street).
  •   What's next for Monmouth Street Emporium? We love taking part in Scavenger Hunts and street events, which are usually created by the gals at Toad Hollow Gifts, including this Saturday's "Taste of Monmouth". https://www.facebook.com/events/597756650259749/. We are prepared with a sample of our cookie, along with the recipe and a 20% off coupon to help get the holidays off on the right foot.
