Fair Haven Garden Club Seeks To Beautify Red Bank Cafe
The local volunteer group plans to add colorful flora to the entrance of the restaurant, which employs adults with intellectual disabilities

RED BANK, NJ - As the state begins to reopen to business as usual, several local eateries around the two rivers have begun preparing for customers to return. To assist with reopening efforts, one local garden club has vowed to beautify a neighboring business.
The Garden Club of Fair Haven, a volunteer-led hobby and community service group, recently committed to decorating No Limits Cafe in Red Bank amid its post-pandemic preparation. The garden club plans to fill the cafe’s planters with flowers that will enhance the entrance of the cafe, a nonprofit which employs adults with intellectual disabilities and serves lunch daily.
“The club President Richard Biernacki visited the cafe and noticed the lack of plant material and flowers around the cafe. He knew the garden club could donate their time and plants to complete this beautification,” the club said in a statement to Patch.

“When the project is complete the garden club will have their next meeting at the cafe, a nice change from the Zoom meetings this past year.”
In other garden club news, the volunteers at the Garden Club of Fair Haven have also joined forces with local girl scout troops. The Juniors Committee, led by Dana Trinks, Leslie Eadon, Lata Mahbubani, Barbara Nevius and Sandy Mailman, met with the garden club in April at McCarter Park in Fair Haven to help the girls earn a nature badge. Together, scouts and garden club members created cuffs and headbands with fresh and dried flowers, seeds and feathers.
