Feeling Fresh at the Red Bank Primary School
Fresh fruit and vegetable program at the Red Bank Primary School

The Red Bank Primary School was one of 157 schools throughout the state of New Jersey chosen to participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program for the 2016-2017 school year.
The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) is a federally funded program providing free fruits and vegetables to students in participating elementary schools during the school day. All students are encouraged to try the produce, which has included sugar snap peas, blueberries, radishes, and spinach, to name just a few. Teachers are also provided with fun facts and videos to add an educational component to the program. Monthly nutrition and healthy activity newsletters are provided for students to share with their families at home.
