Forecast Convinces Red Bank, Shrewsbury School Officials To Use Another Snow Day

The approaching storm and the declaration of a state of emergency declared by Gov. Chris Christie have prompted school officials in the Red Bank and Shrewsbury areas to close schools for Thursday.

For Red Bank Borough schools, the closure uses up the final emergency closure day built into the district’s calendar.

Red Bank Regional had two emergency days built into the pupil calendar; extra days get added to the end of the school year.

Red Bank Catholic and the Red Bank Charter School both announced they will be closed Thursday. The number of emergency closure days built into their calendars was not clear.

And the Shrewsbury Borough schools also will be closed, an announcement on the district’s website said.
