Golf Tournament Raises Over $250K For Kids In Monmouth County

DEAL, NJ — A recent golf tournament has raised over $250,000 for after-school and summer programming across Monmouth County.

On June 22, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County (BGCM) hosted its 19th annual "Swing for the Kids" golf tournament at Hollywood Golf Club in Deal.

When rain and lightning moved in after 12 holes, play was called early, but the energy in the room and the generosity of the day were unaffected, with over $250,000 raised.

During the event, golfers took to Hollywood's premier course for an afternoon of competition, with a gourmet lunch, open bar
service, hand-rolled cigars, a silent auction and dinner.

Though the round was shortened by weather, the tournament delivered the kind of atmosphere that has made the event a staple on the Monmouth County philanthropic calendar.

During the dinner program, Asbury Park Club alum Kaelah Grant spoke about the impact the Club has had on her life.

“I found a safe place. I found caring adults who believed in me,” Grant said. “I found mentors who challenged me, encouraged me, and helped me see possibilities for my future that I had never imagined.”

Grant, who earned her master's degree in Public & Global Health from Columbia University, credits the Boys & Girls Club for instilling in her a belief that “a child from Asbury Park deserved opportunities.”

The Swing for the Kids tournament has become a cornerstone event for BGCM, bringing together corporate partners, community leaders, and longtime supporters around a shared investment in local youth.

Proceeds from the event support after-school and summer programming for children and teens across Monmouth County.
